Undergraduate Degree Programs

Curriculum Undergraduate Computer Engineering students study Physics, Calculus, Chemistry, Technical Writing, Statistics, Circuits, and more. By a student's junior year, he or she must select an emphasis: hardware or software.
Hardware Emphasis Computer hardware engineers research, design, develop, test, and oversee the installation of computer hardware and supervise its manufacture and installation.
Software Emphasis Computer software engineers apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications.

There are two ways to study computer engineering at the University of Florida: with a software emphasis and with a hardware emphasis.
